Breakdown : The Breakdown Sheet - Overview
The Breakdown Sheet has what you need to break down the current scene and go to related scenes.

Breakdown Sheet - Change Scenes
Move 1 scene at a time
Click on the up / down arrows(1) in the Breakdown Sheet.
OR
in the navigation table: click on the current scene (grey background);
click on up / down arrows on the keyboard.
Move more than 1 scene at a time
Note: click on the arrow above the navigation table(2) to see the scene header (slug line)
in the navigation table(3), the scenes are in story order:
click on the scene you want.
Move next / previous scene in Sort
Click on the Sort Menu, Click on the Sort to select it
OR Click on the Cast, Filming Location etc.,Click on Sort ;
Click on next / previous arrows(4) to move to the next scene with that Cast, Filming Location etc.
Breakdown Sheet - Scene ID
If you want to add the episode ID to all or many scenes in a script, use Set Episodic Prefix in Scene Tools (Story Order window).
If you want to renumber all or many scenes in a script, after making changes, use Renumber Scenes in Scene Tools (Story Order window).
Add /Change Episode ID (prefix), Scene Number, Scene Part ID (suffix)
Click on ID button OR double-click in scene number/ID in Breakdown Sheet;
Click in and Type in Prefix, Scene ID and/or Suffix;
Return OR Click on Apply.
Add Episode ID (prefix) to many/all scenes in script
Open Strips Window (option-command-W);
Click on Story Order(1);
Click on the first scene for the Episode ID;
Shift-click (or command-A for all scenes) on the last scene;
Click on Scene Tools(2).
Click on Set Episodic prefix…
Type in the Episodic prefix;
Return OR Click on Apply.
Clear Episode ID (prefix) from many/all scenes in script
Open Strips Window (option-command-W);
Click on Story Order;
Click on the first scene for the Episode ID;
Shift-click (or command-A for all scenes) on the last scene;
Click on Scene Tools.
Click on Set Episodic prefix…
Click on Clear.
Renumber scenes
Open Strips Window (option-command-W);
Click on Story Order(1);
Click on the first scene for renumbering;
Click on Scene Tools(2).
Click on Renumber Scenes
Click on Auto number (numbers each scene to the end);
OR Click on Apply (numbers a scene at a time);
Click on >> to go to next scene;
Click on Cancel to finish.
Note: auto number will stop at each scene with a suffix.
Breakdown Sheet - INT/EXT
Changing the Int/Ext style must be done in Preferences…Import/New before importing the script.
Replace INT, EXT or I/E in Breakdown Sheet
Click on menu(1);
Click on INT, EXT or I/E.

Breakdown Sheet - Time of Day
Add new Times of Day in English and other languages in TOD (Preferences in WattWenn menu)
Replace Time of Day(TOD) in Breakdown Sheet
Double-Click in TOD box(1) in Breakdown Sheet OR TOD box(2) -highlights field and contents;
Type the TOD (a few letters is usually enough);
Return.
OR Click on the menu(3);
Click on the TOD.
Breakdown Sheet - Scene Length
Set Pages or Mins/secs in Preferences before importing the script, if you want to change the setting previously used.
Click on WattWenn;
Click on Preferences;
Click on Import/New;
Click on Pages or Mins/secs.
Change Scene Length
Click on Length button(1) OR double-click on scene length in Breakdown Sheet(1);
Type in number of Pages (Mins);
Tab to, and type in number of 1/8 (secs);
Return or Click on Set.
Breakdown Sheet - Set/Location
Add or Replace Set/Location in Breakdown Sheet
Double-Click in Set/Location in Breakdown Sheet (1) OR Click on the Menu (3) - highlights field and contents (2);
Type in a new Set/Location, Return.
OR Click on a Set/Location in the Menu, Return.
Breakdown Sheet - Filming Location
Add or Replace Filming Location in Breakdown Sheet
Double-Click in Filming Location in Breakdown Sheet (1) OR Click on the Menu (3) - highlights field and contents (2);
Type in a Filming Location, Return.
OR Click on a Filming Location in the Menu, Return.
Breakdown Sheet - Cast
Add Cast IDs in the Elements Manager, Cast.
Adding a Cast list is easier in the Elements Manager, Cast too.
Add Cast to the Breakdown Sheet
Cast speaking in the Scene, are added to the Breakdown Sheet on Script Import.
Non-speaking cast, found in the action, are in the Cast table with a magenta background.
EITHER Click on a Cast in the table(1) - Cast is highlighted in the script(2);
Return.
OR Double-Click in the Cast in Breakdown Sheet OR Click on the Menu(3) - highlights field and contents;
Type in the Cast, Return
OR Click on the Cast in the Menu, Return.
Add VO to Cast
Click on Cast in Breakdown Sheet;
Click on VO button(4).
Remove Cast from Breakdown Sheet
Click on Cast in Breakdown Sheet;
Delete.
Breakdown Sheet - Extras
Add Extra in Breakdown Sheet
Double-Click in Extras in Breakdown Sheet (1) OR Click on the Menu (3) - highlights field and contents (2);
Type in an Extra, Return.
OR
Click on the Menu;
Click on an Extra, Return.
Add number to Extra in Breakdown Sheet
Click on Extra in Breakdown Sheet to select it;
Click on # button (4);
Type number;
Return or Click on Apply.
Remove Extra from Breakdown Sheet
Click on Extra in Breakdown Sheet to select it;
Delete.
Breakdown Sheet - Script Day and Time
Add Script Day in Breakdown Sheet
Double-Click in Script Day in Breakdown Sheet (1) OR Click on the Menu (3),- highlights field and contents (2);
Type a Script Day, Return.
OR Click on a Script Day in the Menu, Return.
Add Script Time in Breakdown Sheet
Double-Click in Script Time field (4) or Tab from Script Day field;
Type in the Script Time;
Return - Script Time is added after Script Day(5).
Remove Script Day or Script Time from Breakdown Sheet
Double-click in Script Day field or Script Time field;
Delete;
Return.
Breakdown Sheet - More Categories
Type ahead helps find elements in a long menu quickly. Typing 2 or 3 letters will usually show the element in the table under the elements menu.
Change Category
Also changes the elements shown below the category.
Double-Click in a Category in the Breakdown Sheet (1).
OR Click on the Category Menu (3);
Click on the Category or Type in box(2) until Category is shown, Return.
Add Category to Menu and Breakdown Sheet
Click on the Category Menu(3) OR Double-Click in the box(2) - highlights the contents;
Type the new Category;
Return.
Add Element to Menu and Breakdown Sheet
A new element has to be added to the Breakdown Sheet to be part of the Menu.
Double-Click in a Category in the Breakdown Sheet(1) OR Click on the Element Menu(3) - highlights Element field and contents;
Type the new Element;
Return.
Add Element in Breakdown Sheet
Double-Click in a Category in the Breakdown Sheet(1) - highlights Element field and contents;
Start Typing in Element field(2) (table of elements will show elements with the typed letters);
If Element field shows Element, Return.
OR Click on the Element Menu(3);
Click on Element in Menu;
Return.
OR Click on Element in table(4);
Return.
Add number of to Element
Click on Element in Breakdown Sheet;
Click on # button(5);
Type in number of;

Add several Elements at a time in Breakdown Sheet
Command-Click on elements in the table to select them (such as cigarette, cigarette lighter);
Click on Add button next to table.
Move Elements to different Category
Drag & Drop Elements between any Categories (into New or Existing) in the Elements Manager.
Remove Category + Elements from Breakdown Sheet
Click on Category in Breakdown Sheet to select it + Elements;
Delete.
Remove Element from Breakdown Sheet
Click on Element in Breakdown Sheet to select it;
Delete.
Breakdown Sheet - Scene
Add Scene
Click on Add button(1) - adds blank unnumbered scene(2) after the current scene.
Remove Scene
Click on Remove button(3) - removes current scene to Removed Scenes (where the scene is held until deleted or inserted back in the script).
Split Current Scene
Click on Split button(4) in Breakdown Sheet;
Click on the number of parts(5) for the scene split;
Click on the format(6) of the suffix;
Return OR Click on Split.
Split Current Scene without changing the suffix of splits with same scene number
Click on Split button(4) in Breakdown Sheet;
Click on the number of parts(5) for the scene split;
Click on the format(6) of the suffix;
Click on Current Scene(7).
Split Scene; change the suffix of splits with same scene number
Click on Split button(4) in Breakdown Sheet;
Click on the format(6) for the suffix;

Copy Scene Breakdown
Copy/Paste Scene Breakdown lets you copy the parts of the Breakdown you want for split scenes and scenes in the same set/location.
Click on Copy(10);
Return OR Click on OK.
Paste Scene Breakdown (all or part of copied breakdown)
Click on Paste(11);
Click in boxes(12) to select/deselect parts of the copied breakdown;
Click on Add OR Click on Replace.
Breakdown Sheet - Sort
Finds all the scenes with the selected element in the breakdown so you can step through them and add breakdown detail/ notes. The scenes are in the order chosen in the Arrange By menu in the Sort Window, where the Sort is also available.
Add/ Delete an element to/ from all the scenes in a sort in the Story Order window.
(Control-Click in a field in selected scene shows the menu)
Sort on a selected element
Click on any menu (cast, filming location etc.);
Click on the element(1) - element is in Sort box(2);
Click on Sort.
Click on the arrows < > to step through the scenes.
Using a previous Sort
Click on the Sort menu(3);
Click on the Sort.
Delete Sort
Click on Main Window (Window menu);
Click on Schedule & Sorts(4);
Click on Sorts button(5);
Click on Delete Sorts;
Select sorts to be deleted with click, shift-click, command-click(6);
Return OR click on Delete;
Click on Cancel to leave.
Breakdown Sheet - Script Window
A simple text window which usually shows an imported script. It unlocks to allow corrections for misspelling etc. and cut/copy/paste for split scenes and writing when there is no script.
Open Script Window
Click in Script Locked box(1) to open;
Click in Script Window.
Command-A selects all the text
Click at the beginning, shift-click at the end - selects a section of text
Command-X, Command-C, Command-V for cut, copy, paste
Close Script Window
The Script Window stays open, even with scene changes.
Click in Unlocked box(2) to close.
Breakdown Sheet - Specials
Tag groups of scenes you want to track, as a special. With Sort, step through them in the Breakdown Sheet or look at the group in the Sort window.
Add Special in Breakdown Sheet
Double-Click in Specials table(1) - highlights field and contents (2);
Type in the Special, Return.
OR
Click on the Menu(3);
Click on a Special, Return.
Remove Special from Breakdown Sheet
Click on Special in table;
Delete.
Breakdown Sheet - Production Notes
Add Production Notes
Click in the box(1) and type.
Option-Return moves the cursor to the next line
Return highlights the contents
Delete Production Notes
Command-A selects all the Note:
Delete
To delete part:-
Click at beginning of the part;
Shift-click at the end of the part;
Delete.
Breakdown Sheet - Production Time
Helps work out the timing for the day as timing can also be added to Banners in Strips. Times for the start /end of each Scene and timed Banner (lunch etc.) are calculated from the Start Time, set in Day Notes - Start Times (Schedule Tools). The timing is shown / hidden by ticking the Scene Shoot Times box in Layout (StripsWindow).
Add Production Time and Shots
Click on Production Time button(1);
Type in hours(2);
Tab to OR click in Mins(3);
Type in minutes;
Tab to OR click in Shots(4);
Type in shots;
Return OR Click on OK when all entries are done.
Delete Production Time and Shots
Click on Production Time button(1);
Tab to OR double-click in hours;
Delete
Tab to OR click in Mins;
Delete;

Return OR Click on OK when deletes are done.
Breakdown Sheet - Add Scene to Sortboards
Name Sortboards and Groups in the Sortboard Browsers (Windows Menu).
9 sortboards where important scenes that need to be discussed, tracked etc. can be kept and drag and dropped into groups. Scenes and parts sent to outside specialists(VFX etc.) can be grouped by who is doing the work.
Add Current Scene to Sortboard
Click on Sortboard Menu(1);
Click on Sortboard;
Click on Add.
