Breakdown : the Elements Manager - Overview
Use the Elements Manager when you want to make changes for all Breakdown Sheets throughout the project, such as Role IDs, Setting Element IDs in More categories, Replace 1 menu item with another, Delete items from a Menu.

Breakdown - Elements Manager - INT/EXT
Click in circle to set new Int/Ext format in Preferences before importing the script or starting project.
Preferences
Click on Int/ Ext style menu, click on new style
OR Add a custom Int/Ext style
Either type a new Int into the box; Or click on the menu, click on the Int you want;
Either type a new Ext into the box; Or click on the menu, click on the Ext you want;
Either type a new Int/Ext into the box; Or click on the menu, click on the Int/Ext you want;
Click on Add.
Breakdown - Elements Manager - Set / Location
When you click on a Set / Location in the table, that set / location appears in the boxes for Add and Replace. This lets you easily add and replace new versions of the sets / locations and correct any misspellings.
Add Set / Location to Menu
Type in new Set / Location in highlighted box;
Click on Add.
Replace Set / Location in Breakdown Sheets
(useful for standardising on 1 version of a Set / Location)
Click on Set / Location to be replaced;
Click on menu for replace;
Click on Set / Location;
Click on Replace.
Window shows what has been replaced and scene ids where it has been replaced.
to show a scene: Click on the scene id, click on Breakdown Sheet.
Delete Set / Location from Menu
Click on NOT used Set / Location to be deleted;
Click in Locked;
Click on Delete.

Replace Time of Day in Breakdown Sheets…
Click on Time of Day to be replaced
Click on Replace menu;
Click on Time of Day;
Click on Replace.
Window shows what has been replaced and scene ids where it has been replaced.

Breakdown - Elements Manager - Cast
Add Cast to Menu
Type in new Cast in highlighted box;
Click on Add.
Replace Cast in Breakdown Sheets
Lets you standardise on 1 version of a Cast name where there are several versions in a script.
Click on Cast to be replaced;
Type a Cast in the box OR
Click on menu for replace;
Click on Cast;
Click on Replace.

Click on the scene id;
Click on Breakdown Sheet.
Add Cast IDs
Click on Auto assign.
Cast IDs are auto assigned in order of the number of scenes a Cast is in.
If 2 Cast are in the same number of scenes, Cast IDs are assigned in alphabetical order.
Assign / Change individual Cast IDs
EITHER click on the Cast in the table;
Type the Cast ID in the box;
Click on Apply.
OR click on the Cast in the left table;
OR click, shift-click to select more than 1 Cast in the left table;
Drag the Cast to the new ID(s).
Save the Cast + IDs for new scripts
Lets you use the same Cast IDs after importing a script.
Click on Save: Current Cast and Cast IDs
Add saved Cast + IDs to a script
Also lets you see Cast which have been added as they don’t have a Cast ID.
Click on Populate List: using saved Cast and IDs.
Fills the left table.
Remove Cast IDs
Click (shift-click, command-click or command-A) on the Cast in the left table;
Click on Remove.
Delete Cast from Project
Cast NOT used have a cyan blue background.
Click on Cast;
Click in Locked box;
Click on Delete.

Breakdown - Elements Manager - Specials
In Specials you can add important elements you want to track or scenes where you need more information to complete the breakdown or scenes you want to discuss with the Director (or a department like Make-up) before scheduling. Use Schedule & Sorts in the Strips Window to see the group of scenes where you have each special.
Add Special to Menu
Type in new Special in highlighted box;
Click on Add.

Click on Special to be replaced;
Type a Special in the box OR
Click on menu for replace;
Click on Special;
Click on Replace.

You can drag&drop elements between these categories, for example between CARS and VEHICLES.
Add Element to Menu
Type in new Element in highlighted box;
Click on Add.

Click on Element;
Click on Replace.

Set Element ID
Click on Element;
Type the Element ID in the highlighted box;
Click on Apply;
Click in the Show element ids box if you want them in the Breakdown Sheet and DooD.
(If you tick the box, (null) will show against elements with NO element id)
Delete Element from Project
Elements NOT used have a cyan blue background.
Click on Element;
Click on Delete.
Add Category to Menu
Type in new Category in highlighted box;
Click on Add.
Crosscheck Elements / Categories (WattWenn HE only)
Click on Cross check when importing a schedule + scenes.
This looks for and lets you correct if an element is in 2 categories, for example Ford pickup in CARS and VEHICLES.
Remove Category from Breakdown
Category and Elements in it will be removed from all Breakdown Sheets but be in the Menu.
Click on Category;
Click on Remove.
Delete Category from Project
Category and Elements in it will be deleted from all Breakdown Sheets and from the Menu.
Click on Category;
Click on Delete.
