Importing a script into WattWenn - Overview
Languages supported: English, French, Spanish, German, Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Turkish
Contact WattWenn to add another language.
This gives you :-
1. script for each scene in the Breakdown Editor for a much easier breakdown;
2. scene header (slug line) broken down into INT/EXT, Location, Time of Day;
3. speaking Roles added to the breakdown;
4. other Roles found in the scene script, ready to add to the breakdown;
5. scene length.

When no script is available
No script available
When you don’t yet have the script for an adaptation but want to do some planning.
Also used for planning what footage to use in documentaries.
1. Click on File (Menu Bar), click on New.
2. Type the project name, click on Save.
3. Click on Script Order.
4. Click on Scene Tools, click on Add Scenes.
5. Type in the number of scenes (up to 100 at a time), click on Add after selected scene;
repeat until you have the number of scenes you want in the project;
click on Cancel.
6. Click on Scene Tools, click on Renumber Scenes.
7. Type in the Scene Number, click on Auto Number;
click on Cancel (all the scenes are now numbered).
8. Click on Window (Menu Bar), click on Breakdown.
9. Scroll in the Navigator and click on scene 1.
10.Click in the Script locked box (unlocks the script window).
11.Click in the script window and start typing.
Importing a batch of Final Draft scripts into WattWenn (HE only)
English is the only language supported on WattWenn Import at this time.
Contact WattWenn if you need to use another language.
Note: in the text window, you can edit in any missing INT/EXT, Times of Day etc.
1. Final Draft: Export the scripts as .rtf (rich text files)
2. WattWenn Import:
2.1 type the episode id;
2.2 type the episode length;
2.3 click in Pages OR Mins Secs box;
2.4 click on Select File
3. click on the episode Final Draft .rtf script;
click on Import
4. type the project name;
select where the project will be (Desktop etc.).
5. type in the new episode id;
click on Select File;
click on the episode Final Draft .rtf script;
click on Import;
repeat until all the episodes are imported.
6. click on Export;
type in the project name.
WattWenn: Importing the file of FD scripts
1. click on File;
click on New.
2. type in the project name;
select where the project will be (Desktop etc.);
click on Save.
3. Strips Window: click on Script Order.
4. Script Order Window: click on Scene Tools.
5. click on Import Scenes (from wwExport file).
6. click on Insert Scenes.
7. click on file name;
click on Import.
All the scenes from the batch of scripts are in WattWenn below a blank scene.
Script Order Window: Removing the blank scene
1. click in the blank scene;
click on Scene Tools;
click on Remove Scenes.
2. to confirm: click on Remove Scenes.
3. click in the Script Order Window (leaving Removed Scenes Area).
Importing the script from pdf

If you want to keep the script format use a PDF to text tool. Otherwise Preview on your Mac can help.
1. Preview: Click in the script;
command-A (selects all the script);
command-C (copy).
2. WattWenn: click on File;
select Import Script, click on Script from Word Processor.
3. Paste (command-V) into text window.
4. To change script language, INT. EXT. style, Pages or Mins/Secs.
click on Change: brings up Preferences.
5. Click on Start.
6. Click on OK : to confirm script language, INT. EXT. style, Pages or Mins/Secs.
7. Click on EITHER: INT/EXT + TOD (will find Scene Headers (slug lines) with a Time of Day);
OR: All INT/EXT (steps through all the INTs and EXTs even when there is no Time of Day).
You can change your mind mid script.
8. Click on Set Header - Scene Header turns red to confirm and will Capitalise when the box is ticked.
9. Click on Next until the next scene header is shown.
Note: sometimes int or ext will be found outside the scene header.
Click on Next again when this happens.
10. After Set Header for the Final Scene: click on Import.
11. Type in the script length (WattWenn calculates Scene Lengths - these can be changed in the Breakdown Sheet);
Click on Calculate now.
12. Type in the name;
Select the folder where you want it saved;
Click on Save.
