Story Order - Overview
All scenes are shown in Story Order.
Using Sorts + Scene Tools
Update groups of scenes, for example, the Filming Location.
Add and change breakdown detail, for example, numbers of Extras.
Rough schedule newly imported scenes and sequences.
Basic Operations
Display Story Order window
Strips window: click on Story Order.
Rearrange the columns
Click in the column header;
Drag the column and Drop it in the new position.
Change column width
Column header: move the mouse pointer to the column divider (pointer changes to double arrow);
Drag the column divider and Drop it in the new position.
Selecting scenes
Click, command-click and shift-click in either window to select scenes in both windows.
Click, Command-A in the left (single line strips) window to select all scenes.

Selecting scenes from Sorts
Sorts:Click on the Sort Name/Menu;
Click on the new Sort;
Click on the All button (OR < or > to step through the Sort and select scenes).
Scene Tools
Scene Tools: Schedule
Click, command-click and shift-click in either window to select scenes;
Click on Scene Tools, Click on Schedule;
Return or Click on Schedule to confirm the scene selection;
Type in the Shooting Day Number;
Return or Click on Apply.
Scene Tools: Unschedule
Click, command-click and shift-click in either window to select scenes;
Click on Scene Tools, Click on Unschedule;
Return or Click on Unschedule to confirm the scene selection.
Scene Tools: Renumber Scenes
A suffix and/or new scene number can be added to the scene using this.
Note: auto number will stop at each scene with a suffix (like pt1/3).
Click on first scene to renumber;
Click on Scene Tools, Click on Renumber Scenes;
Type in new Scene Number(1) (if necessary);
EITHER Tab to or Click in Suffix box(2) (if necessary), Type in suffix;
Return or Click on Apply.
Click on >>(following), Repeat above.
OR Click on Auto number(3) - scene number is added to each scene until a scene with a suffix.
Tab to or Click in Suffix box(2) (if necessary), Type in suffix;
Return or Click on Apply;
Click on >>(following), Repeat above.
Scene Tools: Auto Set Scene Lengths
WARNING: Using Auto Set Scene Lengths will overwrite any scene lengths already in the breakdown.
Note: to change between Pages and Mins/secs: Click on WattWenn (Menu Bar), Click on Preferences;
Click on Import/New;
Scene/script length box: Click to choose Pages or Mins/secs.
Click on Scene Tools, Click on Auto Set Scene Lengths
Type in the script length;
Return or Click on Calculate now.
Scene Tools: Add Scenes
Note: scenes can also be added in Breakdown Sheet.
Click on scene (where you want to add scenes);
Click on Scene Tools, Click on Add Scenes;
Type in Number of scenes to be added;
Click on Add before selected scene OR Click on Add after selected scene.
Scene Tools: Remove Scenes
Note: Holds scenes in Removed Scenes Area. They can be brought back, archived, deleted.
Click, command-click and shift-click in either window to select scenes;
Click on Scene Tools, Click on Remove Scenes;
Return or Click on Remove Scenes;
Removed Scenes Area; To bring back scenes:
Story Order Window: Click on Scene to show where to bring back scenes;
Removed Scenes Area: Click, command-click and shift-click to select scenes;
Click on Before OR After(4).
Removed Scenes Area; To archive scenes to an external file:
Click, command-click and shift-click to select scenes;
Click on Archive(5);
Return or Click on O.K.;
Type in file name;
Return or Click on Save.
Removed Scenes Area; To recover scenes from archive:
Click on Recover(6);
Click on file, Return or Click on Open.
Scenes are added after the last scene in Removed Scenes Area.
Removed Scenes Area; To delete scenes from project:
Click, command-click and shift-click to select scenes;
Click on Delete(7).
Set Episodic Prefix on Scenes
Note: any mix of letters and numbers; Click in single line strips, Command-A will select all scenes.
Click on the first scene of the episode and shift-click on the last scene to select scenes;
Click on Scene Tools, Click on Set Episodic Prefix on Scenes;
Type in the prefix;
Return or Click on Apply.
Clear Episodic Prefix from Scenes
Click on the first scene of the episode and shift-click on the last scene to select scenes;
Click on Scene Tools, Click on Set Episodic Prefix on Scenes;
Click on Clear(8).
Import Scenes and Schedules
Import Scenes from another script
Note: for replacement scenes or scripts already imported in another WattWenn file. All WattWenn files have a suffix .ssdt
Open other WattWenn project file;
Click on Story Order;
EITHER in single line strip window: Click on the first scene, Command-A (selects all the scenes)
OR Click, command-click and shift-click to select scenes;
In the project Story Order: Click on the scene where Import Scenes are to be added;
Click on Scene Tools, Click on Import Scenes (other script);
Click on Insert before selected scene OR Insert after selected scene.
WattWenn HE ONLY: Category and Elements Check - checks all elements in breakdown of imported scenes are in the same breakdown category in the project (for example: BMW is NOT in CARS and VEHICLES).
WattWenn HE ONLY: Import Schedule and Scenes (other script)
Note: several people can schedule different parts (such as Filming Locations) and/or scripts for a series at the same time and have their schedules imported into a Master Schedule.
ONLY have 2 WattWenn project files open.
other WattWenn project file: Click on schedule name, if not shown in Strips window.
(ONLY scenes in this schedule will be imported)
In the project Story Order: Click on the scene where Import Scenes are to be added;
Click on Scene Tools, Click on Import Schedule and Scenes (other script);
Click on Insert before selected scene OR Insert after selected scene.
Category and Elements Check: checks all elements in breakdown of imported scenes are in the same breakdown category in the project (for example: BMW is NOT in CARS and VEHICLES).
WattWenn HE ONLY: Import Scenes (from WW Export file)
Note: to import a batch of Final Draft scripts into a WW Export File see Importing a script.
If other scenes in project:
Click on scene after which Import Scenes are to be added
Click on Scene Tools, Click on Import Scenes (from WW Export file);
Return or Click on Insert Scenes.
Click on WW Export file to select it;
Click on Open.
If there is a blank scene above the imported scenes:-
Click in the blank scene;
Click on Scene Tools, Click on Remove Scenes;
Return or Click on Remove Scenes;
Click in the Story Order (to move back from the Removed Scenes area)
